I spent this past weekend at the virtual SHareCon. This was my first virtual con, my first SHareCon, and my first fan-run con, so it was pretty terrifying on all fronts, plus the whole...interacting with people thing. I'm pretty new to Starsky & Hutch, and haven't yet seen all of the show or read many fics, so I was hesitant about registering, but pushed myself to on the premise that a) it was free; b) I might never get another chance to get to attend one of the small fan-run cons once they start going back to in person next year; and c) I'm a big fan of a lot of other classic western media slash fandoms and I have a general interest in fan history and preservation, so I figured that even if I didn't know much about S&H, I'd still get something out of the con.

In the event that someone else actually sees this, I want to thank all of the CONspirators, who put so much work into putting this SHareCon together and making it possible, especially the work of trying something new and taking a chance on running the con virtually. And I want to thank the panelists and the other attendees (including the other lurkers), without whom the con couldn't exist either. The fact that this con is still running and thriving in 2021, over forty years after the show ended, is amazing and deserving of praise.

Not a con report after all, just my disjointed, rambling, maudlin thoughts. If anyone tries to read this, I apologise for how overly long it is. )
